If you’re reading this, it means you’ve landed on our gorgeous new website. Welcome! We’re glad you’re here. We’ve been working hard on this project over the past few months and are very excited to show it to you. And if you’ve been around since the beginning, you may have noticed it’s something we do every couple of years. A website redesign. This pass was different though; it required more than our standard redesign efforts. We felt like it was time for a true NextView brand refresh. New logo, new system of fonts and colors, new verbal and visual identity. You name it, we’ve redone it. Why? Read on to learn more:
Why now for the NextView brand refresh?
NextView has evolved exponentially over the past few years. Our high-conviction, hands-on investment approach has remained the same (and always will!), but our firm has transformed. We brought on a new GP, we added a San Francisco office, we hired new team members, we advanced our platform offering and founder experience, the list goes on! When we paused to reflect on all these areas of development, it became abundantly clear that we had outgrown the NextView of yore. Like taking a look at your wardrobe and realizing it’s time for a closet cleanout – that’s how this brand refresh felt. Keeping the core brand tenants that are NextView and always will be NextView, doing away with the elements that no longer serve the firm positioning today, and making room for new pieces that will better fit with who we are as a firm now and into the future.
What story are you looking to tell with the new design?
Power of the Portfolio
At NextView, we are seed specialists, meaning we are people specialists. More often than not, we invest in companies that are pre-traction and pre-product. How does one make such a decision without those major metrics in place? We make bets on extraordinary people. It’s the fantastic founders. It’s the exceptional entrepreneurs. The humanity of investing is at the core of what we do, and we wanted to ensure this was emphasized in our new site design. When you land on our new homepage and see WHOOP, Attentive, and Bobbie highlighted in the carousel, you begin to understand the multitudes each company holds thanks to the layered nature of the collage style. When you land on our new investments page, you see the representation of a founder network at scale, which is at the core of our new & improved platform offering (learn more about that here). Our high-conviction, hands-on approach has created 13+ years of unbeatable one-on-one relationships, with trust at the core of each bond. Our new visual identity is representative of this.
Harmony of the Team
NextView is a symphony of investors and operators – each of us possessing rich professional histories, personal life experiences, and razor-sharp insights – all coming together in harmony to support exceptional founders as they build companies of consequence. We’re not a pack of lone wolves who prioritize self-interest above all else. We are a team, first and foremost. We harness our individual strengths as a complimentary collective, empowering founders as a united front. The new design style allows us to emphasize this point while also illuminating some of those personal attributes that make our team so effective… our track records of success, our own entrepreneurial experiences, our areas of expertise and interest, etc. If you look closely, you’ll find some easter eggs across the imagery that represent who we are, what we do, and where we come from. Bonus points if you can figure out who on our team loves race cars 🙂
Which new site features are you most excited about?
Our new ‘Ideas’ page is very exciting! The old version of the NextView website featured a blog page and a blog page only. This felt limiting when we took a step back and examined the abundance of NextView content that exists across channels. In addition to our blog that houses ten years’ worth of writing, we also have a cornucopia of other thought pieces that reside elsewhere. From podcasts to substacks, from press pieces to events, we wanted to create a true content hub that would showcase the breadth of NextView musings across a variety of mediums, and the new ‘Ideas’ page does just that. What’s next for NextView?
I’ve been so optimistic, energized, and excited lately. It feels like there’s been a tectonic shift in our universal mood, and the NextView brand refresh feels in line with that shift – an injection of newness, freshness, and overall optimism for what the future holds. We truly feel that there is so much to be excited about. We’re excited to champion extraordinary founders with authentic insight and bold ambition. We’re proud to be dedicated and accountable thought partners, building relationships with founders that last for decades. We are looking forward to nurturing the peer group that exists across our portfolio and harnessing that collective power to win. We are over the moon to build out our platform team and hire a Network Associate (if you know someone who would be perfect for this, please let me know!).
